About the position
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Prepare layouts to conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub flooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in residential homes and other establishments
Requirements
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required
- University Degree or College Diploma in related field an asset
- Must have own tools, safety equipment/gear, steel-toes safety boots, and hard hat
- 2 year to less than 3 years of related experience
- Be able to work evenings and weekends
